Double Knitting with Jill Bigelow-Sutell
Double Knitting is a unique method of making a fabric with no 'wrong' side. Significantly different from the standard intarsia and Fair Isle colorwork, double-knitting makes a pattern on both sides of the fabric with the colors inverted. You'll learn 2-color cast on for double-knitting, get comfortable with the techniques involved, then move into colorwork and end with decreases in pattern. We'll practice on scrap yarn and then start a hat: pattern included with class.
You will need:
2 contrasting colors of worsted weight yarn:
16" size 7 needle for hat
an extra size 7 needle and 2 colors scrap worsted weight for practice
There will be an additional 2 hour class (optional) that will include: fixing mistakes, tips on getting your edges smooth if you are working a flat piece, and increases to match the decreases.
